Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has called for stronger collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government to fast-track national development and improve the welfare of Nigerians.

Speaking at the opening of the 2026 National Assembly Open Week in Abuja, Gbajabiamila said sustained cooperation between both arms of government is crucial to delivering the dividends of democracy and effectively tackling Nigeria’s security, economic and social challenges.

He stressed that although the executive and legislature operate independently under the Constitution, they share a common responsibility of serving Nigerians through sound policymaking, quality legislation and accountable governance.
Gbajabiamila reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to maintaining a productive relationship with the National Assembly in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of security, economic revitalisation, social justice and shared prosperity.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also urged lawmakers to ensure that their legislative efforts produce tangible results through laws that address real challenges, effective oversight that strengthens governance and budgets that deliver visible development across the country.
