No Casualties as Enugu Air Aircraft Skids Off Benin Airport Runway

An aircraft operated by Enugu Air skidded off the runway while landing at Benin Airport in Edo State on Thursday, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated without injuries.


The airline confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official social media platforms, disclosing that the aircraft, with registration number 5N-ENR, had about 70 passengers and crew members on board at the time of the occurrence.

According to the airline, all occupants disembarked safely, with no injuries or casualties recorded. It added that the aircraft had been secured and the relevant aviation authorities notified in line with established procedures. The airline said an assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the incident was underway.
Enugu Air also informed passengers that temporary adjustments to some flight schedules might occur as a result of the incident. It assured affected passengers that they would be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance, stressing that the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its highest priority.
The airline appreciated the understanding of the travelling public and said further updates would be communicated through its official channels. Enugu Air recently commenced operations following an agreement between the Enugu State Government and indigenous airline operator, XE Jet.
