Economic Growth Lies in Entrepreneurship, Says RCCG

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has urged the Federal Government to create an enabling environment that will allow private businesses to thrive, stressing that economic empowerment rather than dependence on government jobs remains the solution to the country’s economic challenges.

The Assistant Continental Overseer of RCCG and Pastor-in-Charge of Region 10, Abuja, Pastor Jide Akiode, made the call during the 2026 Redeemers Men’s Fellowship Convention held at the RCCG Master’s Place, Region 10 Headquarters, Abuja. The convention, themed “The Complete Man,” focused on raising responsible, godly and economically empowered men.
Pastor Akiode said the government cannot provide employment for every Nigerian and should instead focus on creating a conducive business environment for entrepreneurs to succeed. He encouraged Nigerians to develop entrepreneurial skills, take advantage of available opportunities and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu while avoiding negative remarks about the country. According to him, Nigeria still offers opportunities for those willing to work and contribute positively to national development.
Speaking on the convention’s theme, the Redeemed Men’s Fellowship Regional Coordinator and Pastor-in-Charge of FCT Province 13, Pastor Paul Adebisi, described a complete man as one who is responsible at home, committed to God’s work and promotes peace, justice and righteousness in society. He noted that true completeness is only possible through Christ.
Also speaking, President of the Redeemed Men’s Fellowship, Region 10, and Pastor-in-Charge of Zone, Pastor Michael Oluwole, said the fellowship is built on four pillars—faith, family, finance and fitness—to produce responsible and productive men. He explained that members receive financial empowerment training to develop multiple streams of income and entrepreneurial skills, reducing dependence on government. He also disclosed that the RCCG has put structures in place across its parishes, areas, zones, provinces and regions to mobilise eligible members for the ongoing voter registration ahead of future elections.
The convention concluded with a renewed commitment to raising men who will strengthen their families, support the church and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
