FCT Police Hands Over Drug Suspects, Exhibits to NDLEA
As part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has handed over recovered illicit drugs and arrested suspects to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Speaking during the handover in Abuja, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, said the move reflects the Command’s commitment to working closely with sister security agencies to tackle drug-related crimes.
He noted that although the Police can investigate and prosecute drug offences, the NDLEA has the statutory mandate to handle such cases.
Receiving the suspects and exhibits, the NDLEA FCT Command spokesperson, Samuel Orji, commended the Police for its cooperation and partnership.
He assured that the suspects would be properly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing security through collaboration and urged residents to report suspicious activities.
