Bako Applauds Tinubu’s Push for Peaceful Football Transition

Former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Danladi Bako, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting a peaceful and rancour-free transition in Nigeria’s football administration.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Bako said the President’s intervention had renewed hope in the country’s football ecosystem.
He said President Tinubu, through what he described as mature and discreet leadership, ensured a smooth transition without overt interference.
According to the former NBC Director-General, President Tinubu has also directed that lasting reforms be introduced in the administration and development of football in Nigeria.
The statement said the reforms should focus on strengthening grassroots and age-grade football while ensuring adequate attention to the development of the country’s senior national teams.
Bako expressed confidence that sustained reforms and proper attention to all levels of football development would help improve the future of the sport in Nigeria.
He thanked President Tinubu for what he described as his leadership and commitment to repositioning Nigerian football.
