BENUE! BLESSED TO HAVE ALIA
Why all this bashing of a devout man of God?
An ordained Catholic priest who has demonstrated such decency, integrity and unwavering commitment to democratic rules, principles and practices. A celibate priest who ventured into the murky waters of Nigerian politics performing miracles upon miracles, still remains celibate and undefiled.
Even when the Government House floor is generously littered with tempting banana peels, the spikes on his shoes of celibacy have provided sufficient friction to keep him from slipping. What a feat!
Benue, indeed, you are blessed!Blessed to have a fine, well-bred Reverend gentleman as your Governor. A Governor with no First Lady. No side chick. No monthly allocation mysteriously disappearing into Brazilian wigs, luxury vehicles, exotic vacations and endless foreign trips.
Think of the savings!Benue is blessed. Since he assumed office, terrorism has supposedly been reduced to its lowest level. Community clashes, once at their climax, have apparently vanished into thin air. And the State’s agricultural potential? Transformed into a formidable network of progressive business hubs, ensuring that the famous Food Basket of the Nation can feed not only Benue but Nigeria itself.
What a priest!
What a politician!
What an incorruptible man!What an unfathomable craving for peace, development and infrastructure!
And finally, congratulations, Your Excellency, Very Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for courageously going against your Bishop to save the drowning people of Benue.
Indeed, you have achieved what few politicians ever manage to achieve.
You have proved the Church and apparently your Bishop wrong.
Benue is truly blessed. Or perhaps…Benue people should tell us exactly how blessed it feels or the meaning of this name B.E.N.U.E– Broken, Exterminating, Notorious, Unstable, Endangered State?
Benue is battered, bleeding, betrayed , all that mattered to him and his nightmare, Peter Obi.
