SUPA Programme: Artisans Declare Support for Tinubu in 2027

Nigerian artisans from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT have commended President Bola Tinubu’s efforts at empowering them through the Skill Up Artisans, SUPA, Programme of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF.

They gave the commendation in Abuja during a forum organised by the Nigerian Artisans For Renewed Hope Initiative.
The artisans said the present administration had contributed immensely towards combating unemployment, poverty and hunger among them through empowerment and capacity training, as well as international certification through the SUPA Programme, which had enabled them to secure more jobs locally and internationally in the last three years.

The National Coordinator of Female Mechanics in Nigeria, Dr. Mrs Sandra Aguebor, who spoke on behalf of the artisans, expressed their readiness to support the reelection of President Bola Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election.

In a remark, the Convener of the Nigerian Artisans For Renewed Hope Initiative, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, promised to deliver the artisans’ message to President Bola Tinubu and stressed the need for them to reciprocate the empowerment gesture of Mr President through their mobilisation and support for his reelection come 2027.

Dr. Oluwatoyin Ogun, who is also the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, reiterated the determination of the present administration towards consolidating on the successes recorded so far on skills development among Nigerian artisans if reelected for a second term.

According to him, ITF has already trained hundreds of thousands of artisans across the six geopolitical zones of the country under its SUPA Programme in the last three years, while a Train the Trainers Capacity Workshop by a certified British body is currently going on in Abuja as part of ITF’s commitment to skills development for Nigerian artisans nationwide.

He added that measures had equally been put in place through Business Incubation to enable beneficiaries of the SUPA Programme to be productively engaged, while the ITF is collaborating with the Bank of Industry, BOI, and other financial institutions to enable beneficiaries of the SUPA Programme to have access to finance to start their businesses after graduation.

Dr. Oluwatoyin Ogun therefore advised Nigerian artisans to go out there and mobilise support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu during next year’s presidential election to enable him consolidate on the gains of the SUPA Programme in the interest of Nigerian artisans and teeming youths and women in the country.

On his part, the National Coordinator of Nigerian Artisans For Renewed Hope Initiative, Otunba Femi Adeyanju,
commended the leadership qualities of the Director General of ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, since he assumed office, and most especially for the SUPA Programme initiative that has so far empowered hundreds of thousands of artisans across the country.

Otunba Femi Adeyanju therefore called for the support of stakeholders towards actualising the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s-led administration in the area of skills development for Nigerian artisans.
