TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy, Warns Staff Against Unethical Conduct

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document, warning employees against unethical practices and urging them to uphold transparency, accountability and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The policy was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at TCN’s corporate headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the policy as a major step towards strengthening the company’s commitment to integrity and zero tolerance for corruption.
Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on its achievements but also on how it conducted its affairs, urging staff to familiarise themselves with the policy and apply its principles in their daily decisions and official responsibilities.
He commended the ACTU and other stakeholders involved in developing the document, noting that the policy was designed not only to prevent corruption but also to promote honesty, fairness, transparency, accountability and professionalism across the organisation.
Earlier, the Chairman of TCN ACTU, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling went beyond the launch of a policy document, describing it as a collective commitment by management and staff to building a stronger culture of integrity within the company.
Benibo said corruption weakens institutions, erodes public confidence and results in the waste of valuable resources, stressing that combating unethical conduct required the active participation of every member of staff.
Also speaking, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the policy would provide a framework for shaping staff conduct, guiding institutional decision making and strengthening internal control systems.
She explained that the document contains guidelines for preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to corrupt and unethical practices within TCN.
The event culminated in the formal unveiling of the Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which TCN said would serve as a framework for entrenching ethical standards, accountability and responsible conduct throughout the organisation.
