Anambra Govt Prosecutes Mother Over Alleged Child Sexual Exploitation
The Attorney General of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, alongside the Director of Public Prosecution and other lawyers from the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Unit of the Ministry of Justice, have arraigned a mother, Mrs Anulika Nwokike Onyeanusi, for allegedly sexually violating her two daughters with a sex toy, using them for pornographic content to make money, and committing incest.
The defendant was arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court of the High Court of Anambra State, presided over by Hon. Justice Peace Otti, on a 14-count charge. She was subsequently remanded at the Correctional Centre.
The defendant was exposed by a viral video allegedly showing her sexually abusing one of her daughters by penetrating the child with a sex toy while she cried in pain and begged her to stop.
The video sparked widespread condemnation from members of the public.
The charge indicates that the defendant allegedly sexually abused her two daughters, aged seven and nine, respectively, and used one of them for child pornography to make money.
The state government has, in recent times, demonstrated zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based crimes through the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Unit of the Ministry of Justice, with several prosecutions personally led by the Honourable Attorney General.

The trial has been adjourned until November 27, 2026.
