Abuja: ERCC Old Kutunku Holds Special Service, Honours Mai Angwar and Community Leader

To promote rural transformation and development, the Minister in charge of the Evangelical Reform Church of Christ (ERCC), Keida Road, Phase Two, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada, Abuja, Reverend Job Tsokaa, has urged community leaders to be just and fair in their dealings with the people, regardless of ethnic or religious differences.

Reverend Tsokaa made the call during the Church’s Special Prayer and Recognition Service in honour of Chief Bitrus Mohammed Baba, a staff of Radio Nigeria, Abuja Operations and the Mai Angwar of Keida Road, Phase Two, Old Kutunku, as well as the Quarters Community Leader, Chief Sunday Adamu.

The Clergyman described the role of community leaders as vital to national development and emphasized the need for them to prioritize the interests of their people above personal gains to build a better society.

He further admonished them to lead with the fear of God, noting that everyone would one day give account of their stewardship.

In his remarks, the Mai Angwar, Chief Bitrus Mohammed Baba, expressed appreciation to the Church for the recognition and pledged to intensify efforts to attract developmental projects to the community.

He listed the lack of access roads, healthcare facilities, secondary schools, potable water, and electricity as major challenges facing the area.

Chief Bitrus Baba also sought the continued support of the Church and residents, revealing that steps were already being taken toward establishing schools and a healthcare centre in the community.

Similarly, the Quarters Community Leader, Chief Sunday Adamu, thanked the Church for identifying with them and pledged continued commitment to the unity, peace, and development of the community.

The highpoints of the service were thanksgiving and special prayers for the leadership of the country.
