ACCI to Host 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, Unveils “Buy Africa, Build Africa” Campaign
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has announced plans to host the 20th edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), scheduled for September 25 to October 6, 2025, at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre.
This milestone edition marks two decades of ACCI’s leadership in organizing Nigeria’s largest multi-sectoral trade exhibition, providing a strategic platform for business expansion, investment, and innovation at both national and international levels.
The 2025 Fair will be held under the theme “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation”—a forward-looking subject that aligns with Nigeria’s economic vision and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
Briefing journalists in Abuja, ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, expressed confidence that the event will create unique opportunities for businesses, policymakers, and the global community.
> “The 20th anniversary of the Abuja International Trade Fair is not just about longevity; it demonstrates the Chamber’s unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable business growth. The Fair remains a premier platform for product showcasing, partnership building, innovation exploration, and addressing emerging economic challenges. We are especially excited to launch the ‘Buy Africa, Build Africa’ (BABA) initiative, designed to promote African products and services locally and internationally, while boosting intra-African trade and economic empowerment,” Obegolu stated.
Represented by ACCI 2nd Deputy President and Chairman of the 20th AITF, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, Obegolu revealed that the Fair is expected to draw over 100,000 participants during its 12-day run. Attendees will include representatives of government agencies, multinational companies, SMEs, diplomatic corps, and development partners.
Key highlights of the 2025 edition include:
Exhibitions across trade, agriculture, technology, fintech, sustainable energy, transportation, environmental solutions, and creative industries.
Panel sessions with major stakeholders such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), FCT Internal Revenue Service, National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), ministries of Industry, Finance, Trade, Science, and Innovation, alongside banks, fintech leaders, and international organizations.
BABA FEST (Buy Africa, Build Africa Festival): a cultural and economic showcase highlighting Africa’s creative industries—music, fashion, art, and digital innovation—complemented by investment forums and brand activations.
The Fair will also spotlight Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), recognizing their vital role in job creation, industrial growth, and national prosperity.
Widely regarded as Nigeria’s foremost multi-sectoral trade platform, the Abuja International Trade Fair provides unmatched opportunities for B2B, B2G, and B2C interactions. With its location in the nation’s capital, AITF offers a secure and accessible environment for trade, investment, and diplomatic engagement.
Chief Obegolu therefore urged business leaders, policymakers, investors, innovators, and the general public to participate in the landmark event as ACCI continues its mission of building a sustainable and prosperous future for Nigeria and Africa.
