Akpabio Celebrates Shettima at 60, Hails His Years of Service and Patriotism
The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, has congratulated the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, on the occasion of his birthday.
Akpabio described birthdays as important milestones in life and an opportunity to reflect on the footprints left by those entrusted with serving the nation.
He celebrated Shettima as an accomplished public servant, steadfast patriot and dedicated Nigerian.
He noted that Shettima’s journey through public service, from Commissioner to Governor, Senator and now Vice President, has been marked by courage in adversity, intellectual depth, loyalty to the country and a strong belief in Nigeria’s potential.

According to the Senate President, Shettima governed Borno State during one of the most challenging periods in the state’s history, when terrorism tested the resilience of its people and challenged the authority of the Nigerian state.

He said the Vice President remained at his duty post, providing leadership in the face of danger and demonstrating that adversity should never be allowed to extinguish hope.

Akpabio further said that as Vice President, Shettima has continued to bring his resilience, experience and patriotic commitment to the service of Nigeria.
He commended the Vice President’s partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing their unity of purpose as important in confronting the challenges facing the country and laying the foundation for a more prosperous future.
The Senate President said Shettima’s birthday should not only be seen as the addition of another year to his life, but also as an opportunity to celebrate the years he has invested in the service of the nation.
On behalf of his family, constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Akpabio wished the Vice President many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment.
He prayed that Almighty God would continue to guide and strengthen Shettima and grant him the grace to serve Nigeria with distinction.
Akpabio also expressed hope that the years ahead would bring Nigeria closer to becoming a nation at peace with itself, confident in its diversity, prosperous in its economy and respected among the community of nations.
He concluded by wishing the Vice
President a happy birthday and praying for God’s continued blessings upon him and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
