Alia Advocates Moral Education, State Police at UniAbuja Lecture
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has called on the Federal Government to place greater emphasis on moral education and the strengthening of institutions as part of efforts to address insecurity across the country.
Governor Alia made the call while speaking at the maiden edition of the University of Abuja Quarterly Guest Lecture Series. He also urged the National Assembly to expedite the passage of the State Police Bill, describing it as essential for sustainable economic development, improved education, and enhanced security nationwide.
Also speaking, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi, advocated the speedy implementation of state police, saying it would promote effective governance and improve security.
The lecture series also featured colourful cultural performances by Idoma and Tiv students of the University.
