Alia Swears In 17 Commissioners, Urges Commitment to Oath of Office
By Dooshima Terkura, Makurdi
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has sworn in 17 Commissioners, charging them to take their oath of office seriously, shun corruption, and embrace hard work, accountability, and transparency in service.
Governor Alia urged the newly inaugurated officials to uphold the principles of state policies enshrined in the Constitution and to be fair and just in their dealings with all citizens.
He emphasized that the choice of the Commissioners was based on their professional competence and understanding of governance, and further called on them to work diligently for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
“The journey ahead is even longer,” the Governor said. “You understand the vision and mission of this administration, which must be fully executed. Keep your doors open to the people and share what you have with them. Work for APC’s victory in 2027. Be both administrators and politicians. Spend time with your people, and if you feel there is no money to give them, resign.
“Tell the people what government is doing and how resources are being spent. Be the spokespersons of this government. Take your oath of office very seriously and join hands to fight insecurity in the state.
“Our administration cares for Benue and is focused on people, not individuals. Remain loyal to government, uphold transparency and accountability, work visibly at the grassroots, and leave a legacy of service that benefits the state.”
