Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Ado State Constituency, Hon. Lami Ogenyi, has offered free medical treatment worth about ₦80 million to more than 2,000 constituents.

Speaking to journalists in Makurdi, Ogenyi explained that the medical outreach was part of her efforts to give back to her people.

The program provided treatment to over 2,000 patients, including 120 surgical operations for hernia, appendicitis, and glaucoma. Additionally, more than 280 people with eye problems received corrective glasses.

Beyond healthcare, the Deputy Speaker has also spearheaded various development projects in her constituency. These include school renovations, borehole installations, road construction, job creation, and women empowerment initiatives.

She noted that, with support from Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the long-neglected Igumale–Agila Road — abandoned for over 45 years — is now under reconstruction. She also facilitated the drilling of 15 boreholes, secured 45 recruitment slots with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), three positions at the Teaching Hospital, and opportunities for police and army enlistments.

On education, Ogenyi said she has renovated six classrooms and six toilets, built new classrooms in both Apa and Agila community schools, donated a large generator for ICT students, and provided 60 chairs. She has also awarded scholarships and distributed stipends of ₦100,000 to ₦150,000 to women for small business support.
