Breaking:Supreme Court Voids Appeal Court Order, Reinstates David Mark-Led ADC Leadership

The Supreme Court has set aside the “status quo ante bellum” order earlier issued by the Court of Appeal in Abuja concerning the leadership tussle within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

By this ruling, the apex court has reinstated the executive committee headed by David Mark, effectively overturning its prior delisting by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a unanimous decision delivered on Thursday, a five-member panel of justices led by Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba ruled that the order granted by the appellate court was unnecessary.
The court further held that the appeal on jurisdiction arose from an ex parte order directing parties to show cause, without first securing the required leave of the Court of Appeal.
