Chief Palmer Francis Okonkwo to Be Laid to Rest November 13

The remains of Chief Palmer Francis Okonkwo will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in his residence at Aro-Ibiasoegbe, Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State.

Chief Palmer Francis Okonkwo, aged 92, was a distinguished businessman who passed away in Maryland, United States, after a brief illness.

During his lifetime, he was a respected community leader, philanthropist, and a diligent mobilizer of people and resources for the advancement of his community.

In recognition of his unwavering contributions, he was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Chimereze of Ibiasoegbe.

According to a statement issued by the family and signed by his son, Ndubisi Palmer, the body of the late community leader will depart Aladinma Hospital Mortuary, Owerri, at 7 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, for his country home in Aro-Ibiasoegbe.

The statement further noted that there will be a stopover at Comprehensive Secondary School, Ibiasoegbe, for a brief ceremony in recognition of his significant contributions to the establishment and growth of the institution.

The remains will then proceed to his compound for the lying-in-state, where family members, friends, and associates will pay their last respects to Chief Palmer Francis Okonkwo.

The statement added that the body will later be taken to St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Ibiasoegbe, for a Requiem Mass.

Interment will follow immediately after the Mass at his residence in Aro-Ibiasoegbe.
