A coalition of civil society organisations operating under the banner of the Center for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness (TCFCLCA) has conferred a Leadership and Transparency Award on Seriake Dickson in recognition of his contributions to governance, democratic ideals, and human capital development in Nigeria.

The honour, presented on behalf of 27 civil society groups, described the former Bayelsa State governor and serving senator as a model of credible leadership, accountability, and dedicated public service.

Delivering a goodwill message at the presentation, Comrade Agbo, speaking for the coalition, applauded Senator Dickson’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of the people of Bayelsa and his consistent track record in public office. He stated that the senator’s leadership approach, rooted in transparency and inclusiveness, has earned him admiration nationwide.
The coalition noted that during his tenure as governor of Bayelsa State, substantial investments were made in education, healthcare, security, and economic growth. They pointed to his scholarship programmes, which provided numerous Bayelsa indigenes access to quality education within Nigeria and overseas.
They also highlighted his role in establishing the Bayelsa Investment Development Fund to drive economic expansion and sustainable development in the state. In the health sector, they commended initiatives aimed at improving general healthcare services, setting up diagnostic centres, and introducing stipends for nursing mothers.
In addition, the organisations praised efforts under his administration to reinforce security architecture across the state, fostering a safer climate for residents and investors alike. They described Senator Dickson as a humble and disciplined leader whose philanthropic efforts have touched many lives positively.
According to the coalition, his democratic values and readiness to heed the concerns of citizens set him apart as a genuine servant-leader and an example for emerging political figures in Nigeria.
In his remarks, Senator Dickson expressed gratitude to the coalition for the recognition, stating that the award would inspire him to continue serving with integrity and commitment. He reaffirmed his resolve to advance transparency, good governance, and policies that enhance citizens’ wellbeing.
The civil society organisations concluded that the award reflects Senator Dickson’s exemplary leadership record and his steadfast devotion to democratic principles and public service.
