Cubana Chief Priest Visits Tinubu, Declares Support for 2027 Re-election
By Ugbede James
Popular nightlife promoter and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okechukwu made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he was accompanied by award-winning singer Davido and talent manager Ubi Franklin.
A video from the visit, shared on Franklin’s Instagram page on Sunday, showed the trio exchanging pleasantries with the President. Tinubu, appearing amused, noted that although it was their first time meeting in person, he was already familiar with Cubana Chief Priest’s name from frequent newspaper mentions.
The meeting comes shortly after Cubana Chief Priest sparked conversations online for kneeling while meeting Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja — a gesture that drew mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Speaking about his visit to President Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest posted:
“The symbol is the broom. Together they can never break us @officialasiwajubat 001. My desire for you is more than I can explain @asuquoekpenyongjr. Distinguish na water.”
The socialite’s public endorsement adds to growing political expressions from celebrities ahead of the next electoral cycle.
