Democracy Day: Nasarawa Speaker salutes founding fathers, urges prayers for Nigeria’s progress.

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Ph.D, has paid glowing tributes to the nation’s founding fathers.
The tribute is in commemoration of June 12, marking Nigeria’s 27th Democracy Day celebration.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Lafia by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, the Speaker urged citizens to intensify prayers for the nation to overcome its emerging challenges.
He also called for more prayers and enhanced support for leaders and governments at all levels to enable them deliver greater democratic dividends to the people.
The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen described the day as unique and historic in the nation’s journey, noting that it is worthy of celebration.
Speaker Jatau felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule and all Nigerians on this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
Dr. Jatau reassured that the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to do its best to ensure that the much-needed dividends of democracy are delivered to the people.
He commended and acknowledged the immense contributions of the nation’s founding fathers, stressing that their sacrifices and efforts would never be forgotten.
Jatau called on citizens to remain hopeful, support governments and leaders at all levels, and continue to pray for the nation to overcome its security, economic and other emerging challenges for the benefit of all.
While appreciating members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for their understanding, cooperation and support, he reaffirmed his commitment to an all-inclusive administration. He assured that the House would continue to partner and synergise with other arms of government to move the state to greater heights and provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people.
Speaker Danladi Jatau also thanked the people of the state for their solidarity, understanding and support for the government, assuring them of better days ahead.
He further reminded citizens of the need to sustain peace and unity, irrespective of religious, ethnic, political or other differences, for the overall progress and development of the state.
