The Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, has condemned the abduction of 42 students and children from GDSS Mussa in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Speaking on behalf of the Northern Senators Forum, Yar’adua described the attack on innocent schoolchildren as unacceptable and a direct assault on the right to education and the future of Northern Nigeria.

He called on the Federal Government, the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, and all relevant security agencies to immediately intensify rescue operations and ensure the safe and unconditional release of all the abducted children.
The Forum warned against allowing the incident to become another prolonged tragedy like the Chibok abduction, stressing that every hour counts and that the affected families should not be subjected to years of uncertainty and pain.
The Northern Senators Forum reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Borno State and demanded decisive and coordinated action to rescue the victims and prevent future attacks on schools across the region.

Sen. Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua
Chairman, Northern Senators Forum
