FCT: Salihu Tasks Youths On Skills Acquisition For Self Reliance

To ensure self Reliance and employers of labour, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kwali Chapter, Comrade Salihu Abdulmumin – Akinnzhe wants Nigerian youths to always engage in positive ventures towards contributing to national economic development.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Comrade Abdulmumin – Akinnzhe described youths as the strength of any nation hence the need for them to be productive towards making impact in their immediate environment.

While urging them not to loose hope in Nigeria, Comrade Abdulmumin – Akinnzhe emphasized the youth to embrace vocational and skills acquisition for self empowerment.

The Chairman of the National Youth Council stated that the body is collaborating with the Kwali Area Council on programmes that would empower youths in the area.

Comrade Abdulmumin – Akinnzhe therefore appealed to Government at all levels to be committed to programmes that would take the Youth from the street towards reducing crimes and “Japa” syndrome on the country.

He also admonished youths to deemphasize white collar jobs and embrace programmes that would reduce unemployment among them.

The Youth Leader identified job creation as one of the challenges confronting Nigeria and called for effective public private sector collaboration in solving the problem.

He explained that the Youth Council of Nigeria would continue to embark on programmes that would improve their living standard.

Comrade Salihu Abdulmumin -Akinzhe stressed the need for the youth to always be patriotic and shun act detrimental to national development.
