FG Announces Theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary
The Federal Government has officially unveiled the theme for Nigeria’s 2025 Independence Day celebrations.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” highlights the call for unity, collaboration, and patriotism among government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and citizens in order to advance national peace, prosperity, and progress.
The government explained that the choice of theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960, while also stressing the need to consolidate on past achievements and pursue greater goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
It further noted that government agencies and partners are expected to align their programmes with the anniversary theme so that its message resonates across all aspects of national life.
As part of activities marking the 65th Independence Anniversary, a Juma’at prayer is scheduled for Friday, September 26, followed by an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28.
A World Press Conference will also be held on Monday, September 29, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
