Forsake Sin, Reconcile With God – Primate Urges Christians During Lent
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Henry Ndukuba, has called on Nigerians to take advantage of this year’s Lenten season to turn away from sin and sincerely reconcile with God Almighty.
Speaking during an Ash Wednesday service at the Cathedral Church of Advent, Most Reverend Ndukuba lamented that wickedness, atrocities, and corruption have become prevalent in the country.
He charged those occupying positions of authority to promote righteous causes and make the welfare of citizens their top priority.
The Primate described the present state of the nation as one where the less privileged struggle to survive while a few individuals live in abundance.
According to him, kidnapping, terrorism, corruption, and other ungodly acts have assumed alarming proportions across the country.
He passionately urged Nigerians to utilise the fasting period to seek God’s face and pray for divine intervention in national affairs.

Most Reverend Ndukuba also stressed the need for the Federal Government to take decisive measures against those responsible for acts of wickedness.
He reminded citizens that God’s judgment awaits anyone who refuses to abandon evil and embrace good deeds.
The Primate assured that the Church would use the forty-day Lenten period to pull down the works of the devil and declare lasting peace over the nation.
