FRSC FCT gets new sector commander

The New Federal Capital Territory FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Commander, Felix Theman has solicited the support of stakeholders particularly commercial drivers in making the nation’s capital road safe.

Commander Felix Theman made the call while receiving hand over note from the outgoing Sector Commander Mutaa Chorrie at the Sector Command office on Friday in Abuja.

The New Sector Commander said he was aware of the challenges in the territory ranging from overloading, over speeding, reckless driving and flagrant disobedience to traffic rules.

He, however, stressed the need for road users to abide with traffic rules for effective traffic management in the six area councils of the territory.

He passionately solicited the support of officers and men of FRSC to redouble their efforts towards bringing sanity to FCT roads.

Commander Felix Theman maintained that the command would intensify campaign in motor parks and public places to educate road users on the danger of of reckless driving and poor attitude of some motorists.

He affirmed that he would place priority on enforcement as the most weapon to check the excess of some drivers who were bent on disobeying traffic lights, use of phone while driving and other vices noticed and common in the territory.

He also pledged to build on the success recorded by the outgoing Sector Commander.

Earlier the outgoing Sector Commander of FCT, Mr Mutaa Chorrie commended the cooperation received from the senior officers which according to him led to the success recorded in the last two years.

Mr Mutaa Chorrie urged the officers and men of the command to also extend such to the new sector commander.

He, however, assured that the new sector commander would use his experience to transform and ensure more successes.
