Gov. Sule Reiterates Commitment to Safety of Lives and Property — Commissioner for Special Duties …As State Assembly Begins Oversight on 2025 Budget Performance
By David Odama
The Nasarawa State Government has restated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens across the state.
Commissioner for Special Duties, Security and Sundry Matters, Usman Isa Baba, made this known when he led the ministry’s management team before the House Committee on Public Complaints, Petitions and Security to defend the ministry’s second quarter 2025 budget performance in Lafia.
Baba commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for prioritizing security, noting that his administration has put in place several measures to ensure the safety of the people.
“His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, has remained proactive in protecting lives and property in the state. He is one of the performing governors in Nigeria when it comes to security and related issues. Government is leaving no stone unturned in addressing security challenges. Nasarawa State is among the safest in the federation today because of his good security policies,” the commissioner said.
On his part, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Complaints, Petitions and Security, Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba, explained that the oversight was aimed at evaluating the ministry’s performance against the funds approved by the Assembly.
“Mr. Speaker has directed us to carry out oversight on all MDAs, hence this exercise. Since the Assembly approved funds for your ministry, the constitution also mandates us to assess your activities. You should brief us on both your achievements and challenges,” Zhekaba stated.
He further assured the ministry of the Assembly’s continued partnership and support, stressing that security remains the foundation of sustainable development.
