The Federal Government has appealed to Nigerians to remain united and support ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in order to restore lasting peace across the country.

Speaking at a ministerial news conference in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said security and economic development are closely interconnected under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He urged citizens to assist security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and providing credible intelligence, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or social backgrounds.
Alhaji Idris assured families of abducted persons that the government remains committed to securing the safe release of victims. He also expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome its security challenges.

The Minister further advised media practitioners to verify information before publication and refrain from sensational reporting capable of amplifying terrorist propaganda.

Responding to questions at the event, representatives of security agencies said efforts were being intensified to safeguard lives and property across the country.
