Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reinforced his administration’s resolve to reposition Plateau State through agriculture following an inspection visit to Manchong Integrated Farm, a large-scale agribusiness owned by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt.

Hon. Yakubu Dogara.
Situated along the Abuja–Keffi Road, the farm has emerged as a benchmark for modern agricultural practice in Nigeria.
Impressed by the size, structure, and advanced operations of the facility, Governor Mutfwang described the farm as a template capable of redefining Plateau State’s agricultural future. He assured that his government would engage Plateau youths in practical training at the farm, enabling them to acquire hands-on skills needed to establish similar enterprises and attain economic independence.

Over the years, Manchong Integrated Farm has attracted visits from top government officials, institutions, and delegations seeking to understudy its integrated systems and innovative methods. Its growing reputation as a centre of excellence highlights its importance not just as a commercial venture, but also as a hub for learning and capacity building.
Speaking during the visit, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara thanked the Governor for the inspection and applauded his commitment to revamping agriculture as a driver of development. He noted that the farm was established to domesticate global best practices by introducing international standards of mechanised farming, agro-processing, and agricultural training within Nigeria. Dogara reaffirmed his willingness to support policies and partnerships aimed at boosting food security, job creation, and inclusive economic growth, emphasizing that sustained progress depends on strong collaboration between government and the private sector.
The visit is being viewed as a significant milestone in Plateau State’s agricultural drive. By aligning public policy with private sector innovation, Governor Mutfwang is setting the stage for the emergence of a new generation of skilled farmers who will contribute meaningfully to food sufficiency in Plateau State and across Nigeria. For Plateau youths, Manchong Integrated Farm represents hope, opportunity, and prosperity—a place where agriculture is learned, practiced, and transformed into a vehicle for empowerment.
