Horror:Househelp Kills Boss’ Daughter, Commits Suicide in Rivers
A tragic incident occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday when a househelp allegedly stabbed her employer’s seven-year-old daughter to death before taking her own life.
The incident, which reportedly took place in Agip Estate, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, could not be immediately verified at the time it happened. However, police confirmed the development on Thursday, describing it as a deeply saddening case.
According to the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent of Police Grace Iringe-Koko, the matter was brought to the attention of the police by the child’s mother, Glory Joseph.
Iringe-Koko said: “On 25th November 2025, one Glory Joseph, female, of No. 21 Okabia Street, Agip Estate, Rumueme, reported at the station that her daughter, Alicia Olajumoke, female, aged seven, was stabbed to death at about 1400 hours by one Success, female, surname yet unknown.
“She further explained that the suspect went to the deceased’s school, picked her up, took her home, and stabbed her to death. The suspect also inflicted a stab wound on her own throat.
“The scene of the crime was visited and documented. The victim was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead. The suspect was taken to the same hospital and was likewise confirmed dead.
“The body of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy. The case has been transferred to the SCID. Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided.”
