How Sex worker st@bed man to death over N200 in Adamawa state
Eye witness account revealed that there was a heated argument over N200 which resulted in tragic death in Adamawa State, as a sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, allegedly stabbed a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death.
The tragedy occurred in Mubi South Local Government Area, leaving the community in confusion and trauma.
Police reports indicate that the disagreement began after Riyanatu purchased a bottle of dry gin, popularly known as “Big Ben,” along with another drink from the barman.
She reportedly paid N1,500 and promised to settle the remaining N200 the following day. However, when Yohanna demanded the balance, tempers flared, culminating in a fatal altercation.
Riyanatu confessed to the crime, explaining how the argument escalated into a fight. “He kept insisting on his money. In the heat of the moment, I stabbed him in the chest. I deeply regret my actions,” she said during her police interrogation.Contrary to rumors, she denied being intoxicated at the time of the incident, claiming she hadn’t consumed any alcohol that day.
The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest and revealed that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a thorough investigation.
In his statement, Nguroje urged members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes peacefully.
