“I Was About to End My Life When My Girlfriend Confronted Me With Words That Shocked Me” – Abija

Veteran Nollywood actor, Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abija, has opened up about one of the most unforgettable and painful experiences of his life, when he almost committed suicide after facing a major disappointment.

In a video interview shared on the official YouTube channel of Feel Right News TV on Friday, August 22, 2025, Abija revealed that he had resolved to take his own life after being denied the chance to perform the pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

According to him, he was on his way to carry out the act when he encountered his girlfriend, whose words and actions left him deeply shaken.

“Maybe I wouldn’t be alive today because I had already made up my mind to kill myself,” he recalled. “I was on my way to the bush with a rope tied around my waist when I met my girlfriend. She confronted me, asking what I had hidden, and to my shock, she knew I was planning suicide because I was denied the opportunity to travel to Mecca. I never told her about it, so I was terrified about how she found out. She even opened my trousers and confirmed that I had a rope. That moment scared me and made me change my mind about killing myself.”

Abija explained that his girlfriend’s unexpected revelation and intervention gave him a second chance at life, saving him from a tragic end.
