Igala Journalists Congratulate Maj. Gen. Waidi Shaibu on Appointment as Chief of Army Staff

The Forum of Igala Journalists (FORIJA) has congratulated Major General Waidi Shaibu on his appointment as the 25th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the Forum’s Secretary, Yusuf Akogu, the group described Major General Shaibu’s elevation as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, discipline, and patriotism.

The Forum noted that the appointment reflects Major General Shaibu’s years of dedication, loyalty, and outstanding service to the Nigerian Army and the nation at large.

“The new COAS’s career has been defined by courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and security of Nigeria,” the statement read.

Expressing confidence in his leadership, the group said Major General Shaibu’s vast experience and strategic insight would inject renewed vigor into ongoing efforts to strengthen national security and tackle insecurity across the country.

“It is our hope that under Major General Shaibu’s leadership, the Nigerian Army will witness improved morale, enhanced operational efficiency, and greater collaboration in ensuring peace and stability nationwide,” the statement added.

The Forum emphasized that the entire Igala nation views General Shaibu’s achievement as a source of pride and inspiration to younger generations. It congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
