The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has alleged that some individuals are plotting to remove him from office, saying he and other management staff are facing threats.

Ojulari said his only offence was implementing reforms in the oil and gas sector as directed by President Bola Tinubu to revive the country’s moribund refineries.

He expressed concern that powerful interests were behind the moves to unseat him.

The NNPCL boss spoke in Abuja on Thursday while receiving the leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by its President, Festus Osifo.

According to him, the company is working to restore the refineries to full operation, adopting the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) model as a template.

While acknowledging threats to his life and those of other management staff, Ojulari vowed to remain focused on delivering results.

“I’m not hiding from anybody. I’m not a politician. I will have to learn a bit more about politics, but this is about development for me, and I’m ready to learn,” he said.
