The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that a mop-up examination for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, the board disclosed that 96,838 candidates will participate in the exercise, which will take place in 183 designated centres across the country.
According to JAMB, the mop-up exam will cater to three categories of candidates:
5,096 spillover candidates from previous sessions,
Candidates who were unable to complete biometric verification during the main UTME, and
91,742 candidates who were absent from either the main or rescheduled examinations.
“Saturday, June 28, has been approved for the conduct of the 2025 UTME mop-up examination,” the board stated. “This examination will accommodate the 5,096 spill-over candidates and those who failed biometric verification during the main exercise.”
The board also clarified that the opportunity is exclusive to those registered for the 2025 UTME, and does not apply to previous or future examinations.
JAMB further advised that candidates eligible for the mop-up can begin printing their examination notification slips from Monday, June 23, 2025, to confirm their exam centres and other details.
