PUBLIC NOTICE: MINISTRY DISOWNS FALSE SCHOOL-CLOSURE MESSAGE IN CIRCULATION

The Federal Ministry of Education has alerted the public that a widely circulated message on social media claiming that schools across the country have been instructed to shut down from November 24, 2025, is completely false, misleading, and not issued by the Federal Government, the Ministry, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognised security agency.

The clarification was issued in a statement by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press & Public Relations at the Ministry, and made available to journalists in Abuja.

The Ministry urged the public to rely solely on verified updates from the following official sources:

The Federal Government

The Federal Ministry of Education

State Governments and State Ministries of Education

Recognised security agencies

It warned that any information, advisory, or announcement from unofficial or unverified sources should be disregarded and not circulated. The public is further encouraged to always confirm the authenticity of messages before sharing them to prevent the spread of misinformation.
