Veritas University, a private Catholic university in Abuja, has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising entrepreneurship and skill development programmes to encourage students to think outside the box and explore entrepreneurial opportunities alongside extracurricular activities.
This was disclosed on Friday by the Director of the Entrepreneurial Studies Centre, Dr Ifeanyichukwu Ojeka Ukonu, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of the institution during the presentation of a free lecture and distribution of books to students.
The programme, tagged “Free YouWIN Enterprises Education and Free Books Distribution Exercise,” was held at the institution and powered by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ukonu stressed the need for the Federal Government to support the university’s 16 existing entrepreneurship and skill development programmes through increased assistance in various areas.
While commending the government for enlisting the institution in the programme, she called for more students of the university to be enlisted to bridge the gap in self-development.
Highlights of the programme included lectures on the workability of the YouWIN programme by the facilitator and the distribution of free books to students.
