Kankia Applauds Mary, Morka, Sets New APC Performance Standard
The National Legal Adviser (NLA) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has declared that commitment, rather than political office, will determine the ruling party’s ability to sustain its dominance as Nigeria moves closer to another electoral cycle.
In a press statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, Kankia singled out the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Adele, and the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, for what he described as exceptional performance through sustained grassroots mobilisation and consistent defence of government policies.
His remarks come at a period when political parties are repositioning and strengthening their internal structures ahead of future elections, making effective mobilisation and strategic communication increasingly important to electoral success.
According to the APC Legal Adviser, Alile-Adele has transformed the office of the National Woman Leader into a nationwide mobilisation platform by dedicating significant time, personal resources, energy and intellectual capacity to expanding the party’s support base across the country.
He noted that her efforts go beyond women-focused initiatives, extending to youth engagement, interactions with community leaders and consultations with party stakeholders, thereby reinforcing the APC’s grassroots presence across several states.
Kankia said Alile-Adele’s commitment stands out because it is driven by conviction rather than obligation.
“What makes her efforts exceptional is that they are driven by conviction rather than obligation. Nobody compels her to do this; she does it because she believes in the ideals and future of the APC,” he stated.
He maintained that political organisations thrive when leaders view public office as a responsibility instead of a privilege, adding that voluntary service often delivers greater political dividends than routine administrative duties.
The APC Legal Adviser urged other elected and appointed party officials to emulate what he described as Alile-Adele’s culture of sacrifice, stressing that organisational strength can only be sustained when leaders remain visible and actively engaged with members at every level.
Kankia also commended APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka for consistently serving as the party’s frontline communicator, describing him as one of the ruling party’s strongest defenders against opposition criticism.
He said Morka’s ability to effectively explain government policies and respond firmly to political attacks has strengthened the APC’s public messaging while projecting confidence in the party’s programmes.
“Felix Morka has remained a steadfast defender of our party’s policies. His commitment, discipline and consistency have made him one of the APC’s strongest public voices and an individual many opposition parties would wish they had,” he said.
Kankia stressed that both officials have demonstrated that effective leadership is measured by impact, visibility and commitment rather than official titles, noting that their contributions have enhanced internal cohesion and boosted confidence among party faithful.
He expressed optimism that the continued dedication of leaders such as Alile-Adele and Morka would further strengthen the APC’s organisational capacity and improve its preparedness for future political contests.
According to the APC Legal Adviser, the endorsement reflects an emerging performance-driven culture within the ruling party, where grassroots mobilisation, policy advocacy and sustained engagement with members are increasingly becoming key indicators of leadership effectiveness.
He added that the development is expected to deepen discussions within the APC on accountability, visibility and the strategic responsibilities of national officers in consolidating the party’s political advantage across the country
