Kwararafa Assembly To Present Development Agenda To FG …as 250 Traditional Rulers Converge in Abuja

The Kwararafa Development Forum is set to present a comprehensive development agenda to the Federal Government at the Kwararafa Peoples Assembly scheduled for Saturday in Abuja.
The agenda, according to the organisers, will outline the development priorities and aspirations of peoples linked to the historic Kwararafa Confederacy and is expected to form part of discussions on national unity, security, economic development and equitable representation.
More than 2,500 delegates and about 250 traditional rulers are expected at the assembly, which will hold at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The gathering is expected to bring together traditional rulers, governors, members of the National Assembly, security officials, diplomats, business leaders and representatives of the Kwararafa diaspora.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Alhaji Ahmadu Oga Aliyu Onawo Andoma of Doma, said the assembly would provide a platform for the participating nationalities to engage government on their common development concerns.
He said the meeting would culminate in the adoption of an Abuja Declaration containing resolutions on key national issues and the formal presentation of the Kwararafa Development Agenda to the Federal Government.
The organisers said the assembly would also unveil the Kwararafa Handbook, documenting the history, cultural heritage, demographic profile and economic assets of the participating peoples.
The Governor of Taraba State is the convener of the assembly, while the Aku Uka of Wukari is the Chief Host. President Bola Tinubu has been invited as the Distinguished Guest of Honour.
The assembly, tagged “The Splendour of the Kingdom: The Ancient Truths, The New Dawn,” will begin with a VIP reception at 10am, while the main programme is scheduled for 11am.
