Miscreants Destroy Gb-Irorun Campaign Billboard in Yagba East
Unknown miscreants have vandalised and destroyed a giant campaign billboard belonging to Pastor Babagbemi Adejola, popularly known as Gb-Irorun, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Yagba Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The billboard, strategically mounted around Ijowa, Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi, was reportedly damaged between the late hours of Saturday and the early hours of Sunday by suspected hoodlums.
Reacting to the incident, supporters of Adejola described the act as unfortunate, condemnable and against the spirit of healthy political competition ahead of the party’s primary election.
They called on security agencies to investigate the matter and bring perpetrators to justice, stressing that politics should be played with decorum, tolerance and mutual respect.
A source within the campaign organisation said the destruction of the billboard would not deter the aspiration of Adejola, noting that his supporters remained resolute and committed to his vision for quality representation in Yagba Federal Constituency.
The source urged party members and supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, while continuing mobilisation efforts across the constituency.
Efforts to get comments from security authorities on the incident were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
