Nasarawa to recruit over 4, 700 teachers, says enrollment of pupils now compulsory

Nasarawa state government has assure of its readiness to lift the standard of education in the state.
This is even as the state government has announced that over 4, 700 qualified teachers are to be recruited to boost teaching and make education attractive, conducive for learning as its priority
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba stated this Tuesday in Lafia at an interactive session with journalists on the activities of government.
Ahemba said as a deliberate policy trust of Governor Sule administration, enrollment of pupils into public schools in Nasarawa state has been made compulsory.
“Governor Abdullahi Sule in his determination to lift the standard of education in the state ordered that a total of 4, 700 teachers be employed to beef up teaching in public schools in the state
“The Governor has also directed that pupils of school age be enrolled into public schools. Parents now stand the risk to face prosecution if failed to adhere togovernmnt directive.
” Governor Abdullahi Sule has zero tolerance for failure. As a result contracts have been awarded for construction of several schools across the 13 Local governments of the state”, Ahemba declared.
The SSA to the Governor added that teachers under the employment of the state government have been given a matching order devote their time to work or find their way out of the services of government.
On why some schools have remain closed due to insecurity in some parts of the state, the SSA gave an assurance that governor Abdullahi was on top of the situation stating that such schools would soon be reopened while those still in IDP camps would soon be return to their ancestry homes.
On road construction, Ahemba disclosed that contract have been awarded for the construction of of the road linking Wanna to Nasarawa Eggon to open up rural roads for the rural communities.

The SSA who used the occasion to thank the people of Nasarawa state for the overwhelming reception accorded the president during his working visit to the state, furthers pledged the governor’s commitment to the transformation of Nasarawa state.
