New GEEP Programme Manager Begins Engagements with Key Agencies to Drive Renewed Hope Agenda
By Iyojo Ameh
The newly appointed National Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Hamza Ibrahim Baba, has commenced strategic engagement efforts with key government institutions in a bid to expand access to empowerment initiatives under the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).
As part of his early moves in office, Mr. Baba on Tuesday paid courtesy visits to two critical agencies—the Ministry of Education and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE)—to explore avenues for collaboration, particularly in support of grassroots women and vulnerable groups.
During a meeting with the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaibe Said, at her Abuja office, Mr. Baba discussed aligning the ministry’s efforts with GEEP’s Trader Moni initiative. The goal, he said, is to increase support for women entrepreneurs at the grassroots level through access to micro-credit and capacity-building opportunities.
Later the same day, Mr. Baba visited the Director General of the NDE, His Excellency Silas Agara. Their discussions centered on potential joint initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment among GEEP’s primary target groups.
Both officials—Dr. Said and Mr. Agara—praised Mr. Baba’s proactive steps and expressed their willingness to work closely with NSIPA in advancing the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They also described the visits as a clear indication of the new GEEP leadership’s readiness to hit the ground running and make a tangible impact.
The visits were confirmed in a statement signed by Attari M. Hope, ANIPR, Head of Communication and Public Relations at NSIPA.
