New Nyanya Residents Decry Growing Refuse Heaps
Residents of New Nyanya have appealed to the relevant authorities to urgently address the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on streets within the community.
Speaking in an interview with Kapital FM in Abuja, the residents expressed concern over the environmental and public health risks posed by the growing heaps of waste, describing the situation as a serious threat to their well-being.
According to them, the refuse dumps have created an unsightly environment, exposing residents to disease outbreaks and contributing to the spread of malaria and other health-related challenges, with many people forced to seek frequent medical treatment.
The residents therefore called on the appropriate authorities to immediately evacuate the accumulated refuse, strengthen waste management measures, and ensure proper sanitation of the area to protect public health and restore a clean environment in New Nyanya.
