President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has expressed optimism that Nigeria is on the right track, noting that the reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are beginning to yield positive results.

He appealed to citizens to endure the current pains caused by the reforms a little longer, stressing that the sacrifices being made are in the best interest of children and future generations.

The Senate President made the appeal in a personally signed congratulatory message to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

In his statement, Akpabio said: “My dear resilient and wonderful people of this great nation, I heartily congratulate you on witnessing Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. At 65, we are matured and should be working for the unity of the nation and prosperity of our people. We salute your resilience, patience and endurance in the last two years. We deeply appreciate your support and understanding.”

He further urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in the face of temporary discomfort, assuring them that the gains of the ongoing reforms will soon be fully realized. According to him, the theme of this year’s celebration, “All hands are on deck for a greater Nigeria,” reflects the collective effort needed to drive the nation forward.
