NSCDC Boss Advocates Stronger Intelligence Gathering to Combat Security Threats
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has called for a drastic improvement in intelligence gathering across all formations of the Corps.
Professor Audi made the call while delivering an address at the NSCDC strategic quarterly meeting in Abuja. He noted that the briefing serves as an important platform for stakeholders to deliberate on evolving security dynamics and develop practical strategies to strengthen the Corps.
The Commandant General stressed that timely and actionable intelligence, when properly communicated, remains the most potent weapon for confronting and neutralizing persistent security threats facing the nation.
“Collaboration, coordination, and cooperation are absolutely essential if we are to strategically respond to the threats bedeviling Nigeria’s corporate existence.”
Professor Audi charged participants at the meeting, including Deputy Commandants General, Assistant Commandants General, Zonal Commanders, and State Commandants, to strengthen synergy and work closely with other security agencies in the interest of national stability.
Earlier, the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, Zakari Ibrahim Ningi, explained that the high-level meeting was convened at the instance of the Commandant General to critically review the Corps’ operational engagements.
DCG Ningi commended the foresight of the Commandant General in institutionalizing the quarterly meetings, noting that the platform has consistently generated practical solutions to contemporary security challenges.
