Ombugadu’s Victory Depends on Your Votes, Anbua Tells PDP Campaign Council
The National Vice Chairman, North Central, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr James Anbua, has urged members, stakeholders and supporters of the party in Nasarawa State to take its vision, achievements and policy agenda to the grassroots ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dr Anbua gave the charge in Lafia during a strategic meeting and the inauguration of the party’s Campaign Council. He expressed confidence in the ability of the party and the council to secure victory for Rt. Hon. Emmanuel David Ombugadu and the PDP.
“Take our vision, achievements and policy agenda to voters across Nasarawa State, and it will carry our party to victory in every ward of this state,” he said.
According to the PDP North Central Vice Chairman, electoral victory depends on the ability of party members to mobilise votes rather than merely making promises or delivering impressive speeches.
“It is not about sitting and singing praises, making promises, speaking grammar, talking good language, speaking good Hausa, shouting loudly, that matters. It is your ability, your capacity, the manner you bring votes, that matters,” he said.
Dr Anbua stressed the importance of winning Nasarawa State, describing it as a priority for the party. He urged the party’s governorship flag bearer and other leaders to embrace inclusive leadership and work together towards electoral success.

“Nasarawa is so dear to us. We can’t afford to miss it this time. It will be better to sacrifice one person than losing the state to other parties.
“Your Excellency, you are the flag bearer, you are the leader of the party in the state, you have the party chairman, you have the working committee, you have candidates, you are the leader. This is the time you start showing leadership of inclusiveness in our party.
“Let us work together for success. It’s not enough to begin to cast aspersions on somebody, to say this one, that one. We will not get anywhere; all this will not take us anywhere,” Dr Anbua warned.
He explained that the party had overcome the anticipated challenges and completed the process, with members participating from the ward level through to the national leadership.
“Please, let us work together, Your Excellency. You are welcome. You are welcome. Please carry them along. Walk with them. Nobody is perfect. Try to correct them. That is why God has elevated you among them. That is why all has shown that you have the responsibility of being the leader,” he said.
Dr Anbua also urged members of the Campaign Council to secure votes in their respective wards during the 2027 general election, stressing that their contributions would only be recognised if they delivered at the polls.
“No one gets credit for an incomplete assignment. So, until you deliver the next election, until you deliver your wards, until you deliver the votes, before we can say thank you,” Dr Anbua stated.
He expressed gratitude to party members for their support, adding that the inauguration was more than a formal gathering, as it represented a renewed commitment to the party and its governorship flag bearer.
“The PDP is ready. We have not gathered merely to inaugurate a council; we have gathered to renew a covenant, a covenant with the Nasarawa people and the historic responsibility they have entrusted to us as a party because we promise we will not let them down,” he said.
While expressing confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory, Dr Anbua asked members whether they were ready for the task ahead.
