PBAT in Cape Town: Ethical leadership, strong institutions key to peace and development.

President Bola Tinubu has affirmed that ethical leadership and resilient institutions remain the most reliable foundation for peace, justice, and sustainable development.


He made the remark at the Global Council for Political Renewal Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

Represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, President Tinubu said his administration is reinforcing transparency, accountability, and institutional efficiency under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

While presenting Nigeria’s stance on good governance, institutional reforms, and human rights, the President emphasized that ethical political leadership is no longer optional in today’s rapidly evolving global environment. He explained that his government is committed to modernising public institutions, curbing leakages, and ensuring that governance outcomes positively impact citizens’ everyday lives.
He further reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to the core principles of the global conference, which advances dialogue, justice, and peace among nations. According to him, international cooperation has become increasingly vital in the face of global economic instability and security concerns.
The President also expressed Nigeria’s readiness to actively contribute to efforts aimed at developing a global framework for ethics, justice, peace, and development, drawing from its experience as a diverse democracy dedicated to unity and inclusion.
