PDP caution supporters, Nigerians against violence during campaign, elections

LAFIA — THE opposition People’s Democratic party ( PDP) in Nasarawa state has called on its supporters and other Nigerians to shun violent acts capable of truncating the nation’s peaceful coexistence.

The party stressed the need for politicians to base their campaigns on issues that could strengthen the nation’s unity .

The party in a statement to announce the resumption of it’s campaign in the state, Director of Media and publicity of the Campaign Council, Mike Omeri explained that the warning became necessary in order to ensure that campaigns and elections were conducted peacefully in line with international standard.

The statement added that with the resumption of the party’s Campaign activities on Saturday 07/01/2023 holding in Obi LGA by 11:00am, it has become expedient to caution Nigerians on the need to remain steadfast and conduct themselves in the interest of the nation.

“We call on everyone, lovers and associates of the party to support us throughout the remaining campaigns and cheer the party victory”.

According to the statement:’ a vote for PDP is a vote for the return of peace, rejection of further slavery, hunger, hardship, insecurity in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the peoples Democratic party (PDP) Nasarawa State Chapter went on Christmas and New Year break after concluding the first phase of its campaign rallies in Keffi on the 17/12/202 and is billed to resume campaign on Saturday this week.
