President Tinubu Approves Licenses for 11 New Private Universities

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved provisional licenses for 11 new private universities across Nigeria, further expanding access to higher education in the country.

The approval was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held today, reflecting the administration’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and infrastructure.

The newly approved private universities include: New City University, Ayetoro, Ogun State, University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, Eranova University, Mabushi, Abuja, Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun State (Annex), Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State and Southern Atlantic University, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Others are: Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State, Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State, Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Edo State, Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos and Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State.

The establishment of these institutions aligns with President Tinubu’s vision to expand Nigeria’s tertiary education sector, ensuring more students have access to quality learning environments.

This educational development is expected to create more academic job opportunities, and contribute to the overall growth of the nation’s knowledge economy.
