Projector Newspaper Honours Veteran Journalist Kola Ologbondiyan

Veteran journalist and former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has been named Media Man of the Year by Projector Newspaper in recognition of his contributions to journalism, public communication and democratic development in Nigeria.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, which attracted prominent personalities from the political, media and public service sectors.

Ologbondiyan, who currently serves as Director of Media and Publicity of the African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC), has remained a prominent figure in Nigeria’s media landscape for decades.

His distinguished journalism career includes serving as Political Editor and Deputy Editor (Daily) of THISDAY Newspaper, where he covered major political developments and contributed to public discourse.

He also served as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senator David Mark during his tenure as President of the Senate.

In addition, Ologbondiyan regularly features as an analyst on national issues on radio and television.

While receiving the award, Ologbondiyan dedicated the honour to journalists around the world, recognising their contributions to public enlightenment, accountability and global peace.

“I dedicate this award to the men and women out there reporting news that keeps the world a safer place,” he said.

Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were the former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan, and Senator Dino Melaye, alongside other notable personalities from various sectors.

The Projector Newspaper Award recognises individuals whose professional careers and public service reflect excellence, integrity and consistency in their respective fields, including journalism and media practice.
