Reasons Mbappe was Hospitalised

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has been hospitalised after suffering from a severe bout of gastroenteritis during the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, the Spanish club confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.
“Our player Kylian Mbappe is suffering from an acute case of gastroenteritis and has been admitted to the hospital in order to undergo a series of tests and follow the appropriate course of treatment,” the club announced.
Gastroenteritis is often called the stomach flu. It is inflammation of the stomach and intestines, usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. It’s characterised by symptoms like diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and nausea
Mbappe was notably absent during Real Madrid’s opening group stage match against Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Wednesday. According to a club source quoted by Reuters, the French forward had been isolated from the rest of the squad since Tuesday and was taken to the hospital the following day.
With his condition still being monitored, Mbappe is expected to miss the remainder of the group stage, including Real Madrid’s crucial clash against Mexico’s Pachuca on Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Head coach Xabi Alonso had hinted after Wednesday’s match that the 26-year-old forward was unlikely to feature in the team’s next fixture, further raising concerns about his availability for the tournament’s later stages.
Mbappe’s absence is a significant blow to the Spanish giants, who are aiming to reclaim the Club World Cup title and extend their record as the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
